Women’s Martial Arts Festival

Inaugurated in April of 2014, Filipina martial artists gather at the annual Women’s Martial Arts Festival to showcase athleticism in the different martial arts events such as pencak silat, judo, karatedo, wrestling, muay thai, wushu, arnis, boxing, fencing, and taekwondo.

The Philippine Sports Commission carved a path to give women and girls equal opportunities to enjoy and participate in what we usually see as male-dominated sports. Since 2017, over 15,000 women and girls have already taken part in the annual event.
