President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. along with the first family gave a homecoming ceremony to the Paris 2024 Olympians led by gold medalist Carlos Yulo, and bronze medalists Nesthy Petecio and Aira Villegas at the MalacaΓ±an Palace, last night.

The President expressed his highest honor to the athletes’ perseverance in the Summer Games and handed out additional cash incentives, Medal of Merit, and Presidential Citations.

“I thought what we should do is really recognize all the athletes, number one, all the athletes… Kahit sinong atleta dito sa Pilipinas o kung saan man lang, na makapag-qualify sa Olympics, mabigat β€˜yun. That is an extremely difficult achievement to have manage,” PBBM said.

The Chief Executive also committed to enhance the overall status of Philippine sports, following our best finish in the Olympic history.

Philippine Sports Commission Chairman Richard Bachmann, Comm. Walter Francis Torres and ED Paulo Francisco Tatad, together with Philippine Olympic Committee President Abraham Tolentino, and officials from other government entities and private firms also attended the event in honor of the Olympians.
