“If we have to sustain the momentum, we have to provide monetary support, good governance, sports science,” ani Ramirez kahapon sa Philippine Sportswriters Association Forum sa PSC administration building sa Malate, Manila. “Without these provisions, we will not achieve this high level.”

Nariyan din ang mga tagumpay nina two-time world gymnastics champion Caloy Yulo at World No. 6 pole vaulter Ernest John Obiena.

Ngunit hindi sinosolo ni Ramirez ang tagumpay.

“It was not a lucky break, there was a collaborative effort. The golden year was due mainly to the hard work put up by the athletes and coaches,” wika ng PSC chief.
