If everything falls into place, the PBA could return to a familiar home, the PhilSports Multi-Purpose Arena.
The MPA, more popularly referred to by its old name, ULTRA, is located at the PhilSports Complex in Pasig City. The men's and women's volleyball matches in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games were held there.
It is one of three venues operated by the Philippine Sports Commission being considered by the PBA to host its games.
Other options include the Ninoy Aquino Stadium and Rizal Memorial Coliseum, both situated at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila.
PBA personnel inspected those venues on Thursday and came away impressed with the upgrades.
The Rizal coliseum is now air-conditioned and boasts of retractable seats. Romy Teneza, venue manager of the Rizal, said the coliseum has a seating capacity of 8,000.
The PBA holds most of its games at Araneta Coliseum and Mall of Asia Arena in the metropolitan region.
Outside of the NCR, the league is a regular visitor of the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
The MPA, the Ninoy Aquino and the Rizal underwent a thorough renovation last year ahead of the November SEA Games.
