Pentathletes Michael Comaling and Princess Honey Arbilon have brought their winning act in the Southeast Asian Games last year to the first virtual laser run competition in the region.
Comaling, a prized discovery under the pentathlon stable of Ormoc City Mayor Richard Gomez, clocked six minutes and 17 seconds after completing a series of exercises and hitting five targets to rule the men’s event.Lachlan Nicolas of Australia checked in a far second in
6:58, followed by fellow Aussie Rhys Lanskey (7:01) as eight participants, counting bets from New Zealand and Singapore, took part.
Arbilon, who seized the mixed team relay gold medal in the laser run with Samuel German during the Southeast Asian Games in Subic, finished just a second behind Australian Aleska Van Heekeren (7:26) for the title of the run and shoot discipline in the women’s side.
Arbilon’s time of 7:27, however, propelled her to the team gold relay with Comaling, the men’s beach triathlete champion in the SEA Games.
