De Los Santos grabs 22nd international gold medal

James De Los Santos is not done hauling gold medals just yet.

The no. 1 E-Kata player in the world bagged his 22nd international gold medal, ruling the E-Kata Individual Male Seniors division of the Athletes E-Tournament Series 2 event on Tuesday.

De Los Santos beat Alfredo Bustamante of the United States of America (USA) in the semifinal, 25.5 – 24.6.

The 30-year-old Filipino then topped Domont Moreno of Switzerland in the final, 25.4 -24.6, for his third gold medal in four days.

De Los Santos won his 21st gold medal on Sunday, November 15 in the E-Kata Male Individual Seniors category of the Nox Dojo Markham City Open.

He seized his 20th gold on Saturday, November 14 as he conquered the E-Kata Male Individual Seniors division of the Okinawa Karate E-Tournament

De Los Santos, a member of the International Shotokan Karate Federation, leads the world rankings of the E-Kata Male Individual Seniors division with 10,540 points.

Eduardo Garcia of Portugal and Silvio Cerone-Biagioni of South Africa run second and third with 8,740 and 5,365 points, respectively.
