It’s all systems go for the Philippine National Games which unfurls on May 25 in 14 different venues with the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex as the main hub.
“Everything is in place. We’ve ironed out already all kinks to ensure the smooth sailing of the third edition,” said Commissioner Jose Luis Gomez in yesterday’s PSA Forum at Shakey’s.
Gomez enjoined the national athletes to do their best if they want to stay in the national pool and enjoy their monthly allowances.
“This is a challenge to them. They should stay focused and play their best,” said Gomez.
Around 6,000 athletes are expected to compete in the 2013 Philippine National Games different venues with Rizal Memorial Sports Complex serving as the main hub.
The PSC has allocated P20 million for the third edition of the multi-event and another P5 million for the installation of water absorption system of the track oval and football field where most of the games will be played.
Forty one sports are at stake in the week-long competition aims to tap fresh talents for future international competitions.
“We expect new heroes and heroines will surface in the competition,” said Gomez.
