Filipino swimmer Ernie Gawilan of the Philippines won his second gold medal at the 2018 Asian Para Games in Indonesia, ruling the Men’s 100M Backstroke S7 for Men.

Gawilan, who gave the country its first gold when he ruled the 200M individual relay, actually shared gold medal honors with Daisuke Ejima of Japan when both finished with similar times at 1:19.90 seconds. Toh Wei Song of Singapore took the bronze, clocking 1:20.21 seconds.

It was the sixth gold for the Philippines together with 6 silvers and 7 bronze medals for a total haul of 19 as of 3:00 p.m.

Aside from Gawilan, the Philippines also won another bronze medal in para powerlifting courtesy of Adeline Ancheta in the Women’s over 86.00 kg category with score of 107.00.

The gold medal went to Lee Hyunjung of South Korea while Sriyanti Sriyanti of Indonesia took the silver.
